The Marketing Asset Ownership Checklist

Every account your marketing runs on, and who actually controls it.

What this is

This checklist inventories every account a home service company's marketing depends on — domain, website, Google Business Profile, Analytics, Search Console, Google Ads, Local Services Ads, call tracking, CRM, Meta, YouTube, email platform, and review platform — and records who owns it, who has admin access, and where the login lives. Complete it once and you can change vendors without losing your history.

“Own your marketing. You don't have to do all of it. Ownership is the difference between hiring help and handing over your business.”

How to use this

  1. 1Log in to each account yourself. If you cannot log in, you do not own it.
  2. 2Write the owner's name next to every line, not the vendor's company name.
  3. 3Fix ownership before you change vendors, never during.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does account ownership matter so much?

Ad history, review history, analytics baselines, and rankings all live inside those accounts. Losing them resets years of data and usually costs performance for months.

Can my agency still have access if I own everything?

Yes, and they should. Grant them admin or manager access on accounts your company owns. Delegated access gives them everything they need to work.
