What this research will answer
- How many home-service companies run marketing in-house, outsource it, or mix both?
- Do owners know how many booked jobs their marketing produces?
- Do owners own and control their website, Google Ads, and marketing accounts?
- Would owners train an existing employee to manage marketing — and which tasks?
- How are contractors using AI for marketing, and what stops them from bringing it in-house?
No findings have been published yet. Any number you see attributed to this report before the release date is not from us.
Methodology & limitations
Researcher: Chris Heidlebaugh, founder of Digital Marketing Coach (credentials).
Method: Opt-in online questionnaire for U.S. home-service owners and managers. Collection window: October 2026 – March 2027.
Recruitment: YouTube, LinkedIn, email, trade associations, industry publications, and peer referrals — tracked per response to check for audience bias.
Reporting: The report will publish sample size, dates, exact question wording, recruitment mix, and limitations. Trades with too few responses are grouped or withheld.
Limitations: This is a convenience sample, not a statistically representative study of all U.S. home-service companies.

Who is running this survey?
Chris Heidlebaugh, founder of Digital Marketing Coach, a home-service marketing consultant, professor, and author. Responses are collected on DigitalMarketingCoach.com.
Are responses anonymous?
Yes. Email and company are optional. Results are reported only as aggregates, and no company is named unless the respondent opts in.
When will results be published?
Findings are published after the survey closes and a meaningful sample is collected. The report will disclose sample size, collection dates, recruitment channels, question wording, and limitations.
Is this a statistically representative study?
No. It is an opt-in survey of home-service owners and managers. Results describe the respondents, not every U.S. home-service company, and the report will say so.
